Privacy policy

AdultLingo has no accounts and no server of its own. Your progress stays in your browser, and we only count anonymous visits and clicks.

This policy covers the AdultLingo website and app at adultlingo.com. Questions: [email protected].

What we don't collect

• No sign-up: we never ask for your name, email, phone number or payment details.
• We don't see what you type in lessons, which lessons you've done, or whether you've confirmed you're 18+ or switched on explicit lessons.
• We don't sell or share personal data, and we don't use advertising cookies or trackers.

What stays on your device

Your progress (courses, completed lessons, XP, streak, review schedule) and settings (sound, the 18+ confirmation, the explicit-lessons switch) are saved in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device unless you choose to:

• Export a backup file from Profile → Storage & Backup. The file is saved to your device; we never receive it.
• Delete everything with Reset in the same place, or by clearing this site's data in your browser.

Anonymous usage counts

We use Umami to count page views and button clicks (for example, which course or lesson was started), so we can see which features get used. Umami:

• sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device;
• records the page, the referring site, browser, operating system, device type, screen size, language and approximate location (country, region and city);
• uses your IP address only to work out that location and a visitor count that is re-salted regularly, and doesn't store it.

We don't send Umami anything you type, your progress, or your 18+ and explicit-content settings. Umami honours your browser's Do Not Track setting.

Other services

• Hosting: the site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and request details to deliver the pages and protect against abuse (Cloudflare's privacy policy).
• Audio: lesson audio is pre-recorded and served from our own site. Lines without a recording use your browser's built-in voice; some browsers send that text to their own speech service (for example, Google's voices in Chrome).
• Ads: the app shows no third-party ads today. If we add an ad network, we'll update this policy before it goes live.

Children

AdultLingo is made for adults. Sections with adult topics stay locked until you confirm you're 18 or older. We don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
